Good Weather

Blog Date - 20 April 2011

It's amazing this year how quickly the weather has turned.  In February it was freezing.  March was cool, nay cold, but managable.  April so far has been glorious sunshine and warm.

I remember the first years I was riding bikes.  April would be warmer, but not neccessarily dry.  I recall one nice day in April, I was dating a girl in Standish, about 8 miles from where I lived at that time.  The sun was out and the day was warm.  I set out, proud as punch on my Honda H100 2 stroke, ring-a-ding dinging my way down the road trying to look as cool as a real Hells Angel.  Wearing shades, a battered leather jacket and jeans I was "Easy Rider".

3 miles down the road the sky turned a dark menacing grey, followed by a few drops landing on my cheap plastic helmet.  Only moments later I rode into a downpour of biblical proportions.  This downpour only lasted for a further 3 miles before I popped back out into more warm sunshine.

I arrived at my girlfriend's house drenched.  As I stood there dripping on the doorstep she opened the door.  She was wearing a fetching bikini and her skin shimmered with suncream.  She looked me up and down, laughed curiously and asked "You fall of in a ditch?"
