Interesting trip. We're off to near there in a couple of weeks in our luxurious (mould-less) caravan. We plan to visit the Blaenau industrial museum and associated Big Pit, and the Gospel Pass between Pandy and Hay on Wye looks good - with a mooch around the bookshops on arrival.

We might venture to your waterfall if weather and energy permit!

If you google maps Blaen y Glyn Uchaf it'll lead you directly to the car park and it's an easy walk to the waterfalls we saw. By easy I mean 5-10 minutes at most. The hardest part will be scrabbling about in the bushes if you want to actually get to the waters. A little research will take you to others in the area too if you have the time.

A look on Google Street View suggests to me you won't be taking the caravan along the Gospel Pass?

No, just the Discovery.....

We're staying on a CC site at Pandy, with a pub just outside the entrance. Looks ideal......

Come on Ian, where's your sense of adventure? What would make it even more exciting would be a tractor coming the other way and having to reverse with the caravan. How big is your tin house?

I just don't want to hold all those motorcyclists up.....

More waterfalls at Sgwyd-yr-Eira (waterfall of the snow) where you can apparently walk behind the fall!

Aha, we weren't too far from there then on our second day. As ever there's too much to see on our doorstep let alone the rest of the world.

Just like to say if you are staying near Pandy you would have more enjoyment going to national trust Castle and folly as its between Pandy and blaenavon, also the waterfalls in the neath valley are amazing much better than the Glyn. And you are sure to have backache after big pit I. An assure you as went myself last week
