Replace CBF 125 Clock Bulbs
By Ren Withnell.
"Bit Dark That..." I thought. Couldn't see what speed I was doing unless I passed under a streetlight. So, I need to replace the bulb(s) in the speedo clock.
According to Mr Haynes the correct way to do this is to remove the whole fairing then the clocks. Bit of a faff for a couple of bulbs I thought. In reality you can remove the 2 plastic panels either side of the clock and there's enough room to remove the 4 nuts that hold the clocks to the fairing bracket. Not so bad, the hardest part is working out how the blooming plastic panels come off.

This is the hard part! Undo the one bolt in the centre of the panel then...er...juggle the panel from under the rear of the fairing, as above.

The fairing clips to a tang next to the clocks. You need to "jiggle" it away. Be careful and patient, it's a rather cheap and flimsy clip. Pull the panel towards the rear of the bike with a gentle rocking.

When the panel is removed you can just about see and access the nuts and bolts that hold the clocks to the fairing bracket.

A regular 10mm spanner can be squeezed in to remove the 4 nuts. Fiddly but not impossible.

And there ya go! Might help if you remove the speedo cable too. There's NOT much room to get in behind if you leave the wiring plugged in but more than enough to replace the bulbs.

It might be worth adding that the rubber 'plugs' containing the bulbs themselves are a real bitch to get out! Also it's worth adding that you need to be careful not to snap off the tacho reset dial (as I've done) as they're quite fragile, it seems! However this guide has been invaluable. Cheers!
