You Can't Ride a Motorcycle After Circumcision
Blog Date - 17 August 2011
The above statement has been learnt by me...the hard way. No, don't say hard, please!
There's been no blog as it's difficult to write about anything motorcycling when you can't even throw a log over one let alone ride one. Friday the 5th of August was the day I had my pullover removed, by a lady surgeon and her all female surgical team. Of course my little man decided that due to the impending surgical attack he'd try and make himself as small as possible. Never-the-less the surgeon managed to coax him out when I was asleep and attacked him with her scalpel.
I figured there'd be a couple of stitches, a drop of blood, possibly a bit of bruising. Maybe it'd be best if I didn't ride the bike for a couple of days while the anaesthetic wore off. HA! He looks like he's done ten rounds with Mike Tyson...and lost every round. He looks like he's been in a Mexican knife fight...and lost. There's blood, swelling on an unimaginable scale and if anything touches him it hurts like hell.
I did not ride the bike for a full 8 days. It's now 12 days and things are improving. I can now wear underpants without crying every time I move. I can ride the bike too but I still have to stop every now and then to "adjust" myself. People do look at you strangely when you're hitching up your jacket and reaching into your pants at the side of a busy main road. There's a whole new range of unusual sensations from this newly exposed area, not all of them comfortable.
For once though the weather's been on my side. These last few weeks have been very wet so I've been happy to use the car. I managed to drive the car as I could "adjust" myself into a safe position. Sod's law predicts that when I can't ride the bike for whatever reason the weather will be great, so sod's law has been on my side. That said, now that I'm back on the bike the weather's still terrible.
I case you're wondering...the swelling's gone down quite a bit, the bruising's almost gone now and most of the bloody scabs have gone. I'm still very careful and I'm still getting used to weird sensations as the newly exposed skin gets used to touching underpants. The soluble stiches are starting to come out, they can sting if they catch on my pants. If you're planning a circumcision, don't take the decision lightly as an adult and be sure you've got a couple of weeks free to get over the worst.
Right...when's that good weather coming...

Well it's just over a month and a week since my operation. I'm posting this comment to let any worried readers know that everything has much improved. It's still a little "weird" down there but I have had the opportunity to ensure it works both on a personal level and with the help of the gf too.
I'll re-iterate, if you're getting circumcised as an adult then be sure to give yourself time an patience to recover. For a while I thought it'd all gone wrong and my sex life was over. Give yourself time and patience.

My buddy Adrian is in the Merchanhe Navy so while on leave he decided it was time for "The Operation".
All went grand, bit was a doddle, he felt perfect after his lie down and post op toast and tea.
As he said I had it all sorted until I walked out side and saw my GS1100.
Have you ever tried to ride along the A55 expressway, throught the tunnels, from Llandudno Hospital to Llanfairfechan standing up on the pegs!

Joey - the weather gods are against you huh? Hang in there, your time will come. Mind you, it was rough enough on my road bike so maybe the dirt bike might need a longer wait. All I can offer is my experience. I'm good now so here's to your own return to oh-so-slightly-different-than-before normal service.

Well I'm blowed (if that's a suitable thing to say). I've hardly found anyone who spoke about this before and so was amazed by how many have commentated and had the same experience. Is it like minded bikers that suffer the same problems in that lower area as well as enjoy riding bikes. Have no worries my friends, I was done 26 years ago and have blessed that day ever since. Every experience / sensation is improved and I can report only positive feedback to it. Hope the healing is fast for you guys.

I doubt bikers suffer foreskin problems any more than other folks, it's just likely this is one of only a few places where gentlefolk have broached the subject. It's a thing, an experience and a traumatic one at the time of the event. I wished at the time I could have found more personal experiences online to reassure me that my little chap would recover, because at the time it sure felt like he was done for and it was game over.
